The membrane-aided treatment of natural and associated petroleum gases is aimed at both recovery of acid gases (!2 and 2S) making the gas compliant with the gas pipeline requirements, and removal of methane in the tertiary oil recovery processes for further injection of carbon dioxide in formation. Natural and associated petroleum gases often contain chemically aggressive or easily condensable components which materially affect the membrane performance and the degree of APG recovery. Removal of these components and/or control of their content within the critical limits of the membrane capacity require an expensive treatment. Furthermore, conventional membranes used for acid components removal during APG processing accumulate heavy hydrocarbons in the retentate which results in condensation commensurate with the membrane element volume. The above said restricts the area of application of conventional membranes by APG recovery and APG processing and leads to their functional complexity and drives operating costs
